Obituary of Veronica Gardner

Veronica “Ronnie” Gardner, 74, of Watervliet, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Albany Memorial Hospital in Albany.

Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick John and Olga Yundi Gardner and was a graduate of Cohoes High School.

Ronnie had been employed in the office by her nephews Joe and Chris at The Cookie Factory in Troy.

Ronnie greatly enjoyed reading, was the prankster and comical one amongst all of the family, had a great sense of humor and had an everlasting influence on many of her family. She would tempt them with things which they should not yet partake in, whether it was driving before being of age or permitted too or having a cigarette or a drink when she knew that they were not yet of age. There was never any harm done and it was all done as part of her good humor and in hopes of a lesson being learned. She will be greatly missed by all that she has touched.

Beloved sister of George Gardner of Inverness, FL and Felicia (late, William) Eccles of Brunswick, mother of Spencer (Kelly) Capotosto of Long Island, NY, long-time companion of Theodore “Teddy” Vertone of Watervliet, also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great grand-niece.

A Funeral Service Celebrating Ronnie’s Life will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Ave (Corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, 103 Patroon Dr., Guilderland, NY 12084, in memory of Veronica “Ronnie” Gardner.
