Obituary of Nicholas Kamburelis, Jr.
Nicholas “Nick” Kamburelis, Jr., 53, of Troy, unexpectedly entered into eternal life after suddenly taking ill at home on Monday, January 7, 2019.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Nicholas Kamburelis, Sr. and the late Margaret Foley Miller and was the stepson of the late Harold Miller. He was educated in Glens Falls, Troy and lastly at Shaker High School in Latham, where he met the love of his life, Carol Plant Kamburelis, who then became his wife and the mother to their children.
Nick served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Army Reserve and the National Guard over the course of many years.
For the past six years, he was a dedicated driver at Star & Strand Transportation in Lansingburgh. He was previously employed in the same capacity at Laidlaw Transportation, First Student Transportation, Folmsbees Transportation and the Niskayuna School District Transportation Department. Nick had also previously been employed at Advance Auto on Second Avenue in Lansingburgh.
Nick enjoyed classic and vintage cars, Ford Mustangs and was a coin collector.
Devoted father of Valairie Kamburelis, Eleanor “Ellie” (Michael) Maloney, Margaret “Maggie” (Fred Campbell) Kamburelis, Susan (Scott) Rousseau and Joseph “Joey” Kamburelis, and their mother and the love of his life, Carol Plant Kamburelis of Troy, dear brother of John (Karen) Vaccaro and Sandy Adams, cherished grandfather of Alexis Trombley, Molly Maloney, Colin Maloney and Sidney Rousseau and Uncle of Ryan Vaccaro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Star and Strand Transportation, Inc., 360 Firth Avenue, Troy, NY 12182.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
