Obituary of Paul F. Basile
Paul F. Basile, 77, of Menands, peacefully entered eternal life on Friday, October 5, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Gerardo and Antoinette ( Santaniello) Basile. Paul was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA and received his master’s degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada,
Paul had owned and operated Acadia Wholesale Corp. in Albany.
He was a devout member of St. Mary’s Church on Capital Hill in Albany, NY. His commitment to his faith and his strong belief in God sustained him throughout his life.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, preparing his favorite Italian dishes, while listening to his Neapolitan music. His love for delicacies, such as homemade wine, sausage, and pastry was a special gift he shared with all his loved ones. Anyone who has ever met Paul would agree he never lacked conversation. Whatever you wanted to talk about, he always had a story to tell with a lively and positive spirit.
Devoted and loving father of James L. Basile and Ferdinando "Fred" T. Basile, both of Menands, who are survived by their mother Karen Bush of Menands, brother of Joseph (Linda) Basile of Stonington, CT. Fred (Susan) Basile and Sylvia Szymczyk of Indian Orchard, Ma. Paul is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service was held for the family and arrangements have been entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue, Troy, New York 12182. Phone (518) 235-0952.
A memorial service will be held in Springfield, MA at a later date.
