Obituary of Milford J. Williams, Sr.
Milford J. "Mil" Williams, Sr., 76, beloved husband of 56 years of Jane A. Frazier Williams of Troy, peacefully peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, June 22, 2018.
Born in Ellenburg Depot, New York, he was the son of the late Alexander "Richard" Williams and the late Lenna May Reynolds Williams and the stepson of the late Eva LeClair Reynolds Williams. He had served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1959 to 1965.
Mil had been a Captain with Action Security in Nanuet, NY and prior to that was employed for 15 years at Matthew Bender in North Albany and previously for 10 years at John L. Thompson Pharmaceuticals in Troy. He had also owned and operated Charlie's Ice Cream Truck as well as being a food truck vendor before it became popular.
Mil enjoyed bowling, Bingo, watching football and baseball and was a huge fan of the New York Mets and the Washington Redskins. He had been a communicant of the former St. Peter's Church in Troy.
Mil married Jane on August 18, 1962 and they were blessed with their five loving children who Mil is the devoted father of; Richard Williams of Saratoga Springs, Milford (Jean Sousie) Williams, Jr., William Patrick (Shelley Becker and the late, Gloria) Williams, David Alec (Lillian) Williams and Jane Marie (Stephen) Davis, all of Troy, brother of Berna Lee (late, Joseph Leathem, Sr.) Allen of Troy and the late Howard Williams, half-brother of Janice (late, Ed) Henault of Watervliet and the late Joanne (late, Robert) Henault, father-in-law of Amy Cerqua of Waterford and Charlene Arnold of New York, also survived by a total of 60 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his best friend Milton Prugan of Troy who has been there for "Mil" through his illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and to the funeral service by Pastor John Windley, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Ave (corner of 115th St. in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
Interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
The Williams family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Visiting Nurses Association and their friend Milton Prugan for all that they have done for Milford and them during this difficult time.
