Obituary of Cynthia A. Desmond-DeSorrento

Cynthia A. Desmond-DeSorrento, 72, of Linden Court died on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy. She was born on Sept. 11, 1945 in Amsterdam, NY and was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Eugenia Dygert Desmond. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class of 1963 and the Albany Business College, Class of 1964. She was the beloved wife of the late Ned DeSorrento. Cynthia retired as a secretary for the New York State Dept. of Agriculture and Markets in Colonie, NY
Cynthia enjoyed traveling abroad and in the United States. Her favorite place was Colonial Williamsburg, which she visited many times. A special thank you to her neighbors, Alma and Gary Brustle and Ron and Debbie Kuhl, for always being there for Cynthia.
She is the devoted sister of Rosalyn Martin and Tony (Patti) Desmond; step mother of Paul DeSorrento and Amy (Mark) Giaguinto and family; sister-in-law of Frances Gilcoyne; aunt of Michael (Liz) Desmond and family, Shawn (Liz) Desmond and family.
Funeral will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park.
A calling hour will precede the funeral service on Sunday in the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy on Monday at 1:00 pm.
