Obituary of Karen A. Mekeel

Karen A. Mekeel, 58, beloved wife of 35 years of Van C. Mekeel, III of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William and Kathleen Matthews and was a graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School. Mrs. Mekeel had been employed as Office Manager for many years. Most recently she was the owner of ACM Cleaning. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family and three dogs Max, Sadie and Sunnie. Beloved wife of Van, devoted mother of Courtney (Michael) Hebert of Waterford, Alex Mekeel of Cohoes and Kailea Mekeel of Durham, NC, sister and best friend of Michele LeDuc of Lansingburgh, Jeff (Debbie) Matthews, Kathy Matthews and Michael Matthews all of Cohoes, and the late Cristen and James Matthews. She was also the cherished grandmother of Patrick Hebert, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Due to the weather graveside service will not be held in the Clifton Park Center Cemetery on Wednesday at noon . A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family
