Obituary of Marcil Raymond Michaud

Marcil “Ray” Michaud, 75, of Jones Rd. died on Sunday Sept. 24, 2017 at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany.  He was born on July 10, 1942 in Cohoes, NY and was the son of the late Marcil R. Michaud and Helen Proctor Michaud Houlton Keith.  Ray was educated in the Florida Military Acadamy and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in June of 1960.  He was the beloved husband of Joyce Ayotte Michaud, whom he married on Feb. 5, 1966.  He retired from GE in Schenectady as a crane operator where he had worked for 31 years.  Ray was a member of the Rivergate Wheeler 4 wheel club.  He enjoyed boating and spending time at his camp in Clayton, NY.  His canine companion “Peanut” will surely miss his lap.

In addition to his wife Joyce, Ray is the devoted father of Sheri Detraglia of Gloversville, NY, Raymond Michaud of Nassau, NY and Tracy (Mark) Fitzpatrick of Midlothian VA; father-in-law of Fay “Moak” Detraglia; brother of the late Alfred Houlton; cherished grandfather of Krystina  (Kevin) Lloyd, Stephanie Detraglia, Kelsey Detraglia, Rychard Detraglia, Zachary Michaud, Jacob Michaud, Jared Michaud and Shelby Cook; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ray was also pre-deceased by his step fathers, George Houlton and Ronald Keith.         

Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, New York 12065.  Calling hours will be from 10-12 noon Wed. in the funeral home, prior to the service.

Interment will be in Vischer Ferry Cemetery, Vischer Ferry, NY
