Obituary of Joseph M. Lane
Joseph M. “Joey” Lane, 36, of Union, Maine, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024.
Born in West Islip, Long Island, New York, he was the son of Michael Lane and the late Diane Denton Saggese, (husband, Thomas Saggese, Sr.,) and was a graduate of William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, Long Island, New York.
Joey or Joe as he was affectionately known, was an accomplished and skilled craftsman and had been employed in that industry most recently locally by Built By Bashwinger in Albany, New York and ASB Construction. He had previously held positions with Hunter Mountain installing ski-lifts, at Shirley Autobody, Manheim Autobody, Al Grover Marine, Red Witch Autobody (formerly Communicouch Autobody).
Joey was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping, tattooing, getting tattoos, drawing, working to provide for his family and especially being a Dad. He loved his family and his nieces.
In addition to being survived by his father Michael, Joey is also survived by the love of his life, Meaghan M. Thomas, his children Layton P.A. Lane (5), Lenox T. Lane (10 months) and Liam A. Thomas-Whittaker (12), his siblings, Michael Joseph Lane, Krystle Stanton, Thomas Saggese, Jr., Steven Lane, Kevin Lane, John Stanton “Peanut” and Antony, grandmother Annie Lane, aunts Ann Marie, Barbara, Linda, Debbie Trisha and the late Sue and the late Denise, uncles Sean, Tommy and the late Bobby, his loving nieces Bella Saggese, Angelika “Sissy” Stanton, Aaliyah “LeeLee” Stanton and Jessica Stanton, also survived by several cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Victorious Life Christian Church, 1838 Fifth Avenue, Troy, NY 12180 on Friday, August 30, 2024 where the Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. and you will be able able to show your loving support, pay your respects to Joey and his family as well as to celebrate his life.
Following the Memorial Service, you are also invited to join together at a reception with fellowship and refreshment at Pebbles Island State Park in Cohoes to honor Joey.
