Obituary of Mark D. Welch

Mark D. Welch, 59, of Cohoes, formerly of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life on June 5, 2017.

Born in Troy, he was the son of "Betty" Elizabeth A. Joslin Welch of Clifton Park and the late Donald R. Welch, He was educated in the Lansingburgh schools and was a Class of 1976 graduate of Lansingburgh High School where he played football and attended SUNY Canton.

Mark has been employed for over 30 years at Steel Krafts Building Materials in Troy.

He was an avid golfer and horse racing enthusiast and enjoyed all sports.

Beloved son of Betty, devoted brother of Susan Klein (Gary Nelson) of Stillwater and Deborah Byer (Jim Halloran) of Valley Falls, loving companion of Stephanie Kosko and her son Michael Kosko, cherished "Uncle Mark" of Lyndsey Byer (fiancé Jeff Sager) of Clifton Park, Brian Byer of Stillwater and the late John Klein, also survived by a great niece, great nephew and several cousins.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Interment will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
