Obituary of Jean R. Kane
Jean R. Kane, 85, formerly Clifton Park, beloved wife of the late, William Kane, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Van Rensselaer Manor..
Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward Connors and Mildred Prescott Connors Harris and was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1957.
Mrs. Kane retired after having been employed as a Telephone Operator for New York Telephone and Verizon in Troy and Menands.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Ladies Auxiliary of the Halfmoon American Legion.
Devoted mother of Patricia Jean Kane Nellis (Philip H. Kurz, IV) of Greenwich, NY and Christine A. Kane Waldron (Donald Collins) of Fort Myers, FL, sister of the late Anna Mae (late, Thomas) Izzo, the late Geraldine (Thomas of Lansingburgh) and the late Marjorie (late, Thomas) Robinson, cherished grandmother of Megan N (Skylar) Dolan, Nathaniel D. (Amanda Legory) Nellis and John W. Keyzer, adored great grandmother of Aiden W. Mastonn-Keyzer, Blake Michael Hayes, Liam E. Scott, Rylee Autumn Nellis and Marshall Cayde Nellis, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her nephew and caregiver John E. Dougherty.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and to the funeral service that morning at 10:30 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Troy.
Jean’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Van Rensselaer Manor, especially the nursing staff on C3 and to the Hospice Staff, who cared for mom during her final week.
