Obituary of Barbara J. Livsey
Barbara J. Morse Livsey, 65, of Brunswick, beloved wife for 44 years to Richard W. Livsey, peacefully entered into eternal life, surrounded by her family and in the loving comfort of her home on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Born in Catskill, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ruth Constable Morse and was a graduate of Windham-Ashland-Jewett High School in Windham, NY and from Katherine Gibbs College in Providence, RI.
Affectionately known as Barb, she served as the Secretary & Treasurer of Brunswick Electric, Inc. in Troy alongside her Husband, her brother Keith and eventually her son who joined the business.
Barbara was an avid NY Yankees fan and Bleacher Creature, loved doing crossword puzzles, cooking, boating, spending time on her patio where she also enjoyed bird-watching, taking care of her son Rich and all of his friends as if they were her own, providing for others and making certain they didn’t go without. She adored her many cats and dogs through the years. Those who knew Barbara, knew that she was selfless but also could be headstrong. There wasn’t a year that went by that she and Rich missed donating $911 to the Tunnel for Towers Foundation.
She had been a member of Vettes In Perfection where she served as Treasurer to the club.
Beloved wife to Richard W. “Rich” Livsey, devoted mother of Richard G. “Rich” Livsey, dear sister of Keith D. and Richard G. Morse, loving daughter-in-law of Barbara Wirth (late Richard) Livsey, sister-in-law of Denis (Sue) Livsey, Barbra (Jeff ) DeMeester Livsey, Sharon (Rob) Schreyer and Timothy Livsey (Debbie), also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180 on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and to share Reflections in a Celebration of Barbara’s Life Ceremony beginning at 2:30 p.m.
