Obituary of Wanda M. Burke

Wanda M. Burke, 69, of Lansingburgh, lifelong Troy resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at her residence. 

Born in Troy, NY on April 28, 1954, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Rita T. Roullier Burke and was educated in the Troy Public School system. 

Wanda loved a cold Pepsi, smoking a cigarette while listening to her favorite music, especially Motown and R&B. She was a simple soul who enjoyed spending time with the people whom she loved the most. Wanda loved going to get a milkshake and she always had a peppermint with her. Wanda loved going for long car rides, with the windows down and music playing.  

She had been a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh. 

Beloved mother of Robin L. Burke, cherished grandmother of Nevaeh, Kyla, Clara and Ruby, dear sister of Linda White, Edward F. Burke and the late David Cohen, Alfred Burke, Daniel Burke, Irene Burke, Sandra (Gerald) Parent and Mary Ellen Burke, also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. 

Funeral Service will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182

Relatives and friend are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. for Visitation on Friday morning, September 29, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service there at 11:00 a.m. 

Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, NY.
