Obituary of Johanna Sauer

Johanna Andrea Zukauskas Sauer, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday Sept. 11, 2023 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. She was born in Schenectady, NY on August 29, 1946 and was the daughter of the late John Andre and Mary Anne Saltis Zukauskas. Johanna was an Artist, working mother and Co-business owner with her late husband Carl Sauer of Hair Designs by Carl. She was a 1964 graduate of Gorham Beauty School in Schenectady. She enjoyed photography, painting, crocheting and loved all animals big and small, and walking on the beach.

She is the beloved wife of the late Carl Edward Sauer, whom she married on June 22, 1965; devoted mother of John Paul (Matt Notarnicola) Sauer of Cairo, NY and Andrea Autumn (Philip) McGuire of Clifton Park, NY; grandmother of Zoe Olivia and Philip John McGuire; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14th at 12 noon in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Calling hours will be from 10 am - 12 pm, prior to the service in the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road Schuylerville, NY at 1:30 pm.
