Obituary of Thomas S. Chiplock

Thomas S. Chiplock, 83, of Halfmoon, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2023.

Born in Watervliet, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Eva Tezbir Chiplock, Sr. and was a graduate of Watervliet High School.

Mr. Chiplock retired from the Ford Motor Co. in Green Island. From age 10, he was an accomplished lifelong Caddy at Schuyler Meadows Country Club in Loudonville which he continued well into his 70’s.

Tom was an avid golfer and overall sports enthusiasts. He did have his favorites to follow which included the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball. “The Dude” as he was also known, loved going to South Bend with his good buddy Jack to watch a Fighting Irish football game. Grandpa was proud and took great joy in attending and cheering for his granddaughter’s volleyball and softball teams. “Chippy” also loved attending the Schaghticoke Fair each year which he has done for over 70 years in a row.

He had been a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Crescent.

Beloved husband of Barbara A. Kirchner Chiplock who passed on October 3, 2022,  devoted father of Joseph Chiplock (Ron Goldberg), Lori Pipino (Dennis) and Tracey Gavin (Tom), cherished grandfather of Jessica Silva (Andrew) and Sara Pipino, adored great grandfather of Elliana Grace Silva, dear brother of Joseph Alfieri (Nancy), the late Robert Chiplock (wife, Patricia), the late, Stephen J. Chiplock, Jr. (wife, Kristine) and  the late Gloria Voland, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Private Visitation and Funeral Service was held at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 with private interment in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
