Wayne L Benjamin posted a condolence

I was saddened to learn of the passing of my colleague and friend, Don Bishop. My sincere condolences go out to Toni and his family.
Under Albany Law School's alphabetic seating, Bishop and Benjamin sat together. I quickly realized what a gift it was to go through that rigorous and often challenging three years with Don sitting next to me. Without Don's wit, humor and kindness I doubt that I would have made it through law school, certainly not with my sanity intact. Don's one-liners, whispered to me in class, often caused me to quickly jam my hand in my mouth to stop from laughing out loud.
After Law School, we both ended up working for the state. We would run into each other in the Empire State Plaza, at lunch, at one of the craft shows that were often in the concourse, or at a mutual friend's house. I always enjoyed talking to him, catching up and recalling our time together in law school.
I will always remember him fondly. He was truly a wonderful friend.

I am so sorry about the passing of Don. I used to work with him years ago at OGS. He was a very kind person and we laughed a lot. God bless the family and his friends. Love, Jeri LaMonte

My four years at UMass, and the nearly 50 years after that, would have been immeasurably poorer if I had not met Don at the Daily Collegian, and Toni later on. I also would not know anywhere nearly as much about Albany as I do now. Don was a kind, loving and devoted friend; a kind, loving and devoted husband; a kind, loving and devoted father; and would have been a kind, loving and devoted grandfather. We are devastated by his loss, but treasure the many wonderful memories.
