Obituary of Richard B. Williams
Richard B. “Taxi” Williams, 59, of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life on surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born in Troy, New York, he was the son of the late Milford J. “Mil” and Jane A. Frazier Williams and was a graduate of Troy High School. Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran having served from 1981 to 1983.
Richard had been employed at the Grand Union Warehouse in Waterford, Unifirst in Cohoes, Black & White Taxi in Troy, Pepsi Cola Warehouse in Colonie and at Big Bellies in Lansingburgh.
Richard loved fishing, casinos and Bingo.
Devoted father of Ryan Williams (Kate Rivello) of Utah, Kyle Williams (Katie) of Waterford, Nicole Danyla of Albany, Katylin Williams of Clifton Park, Olivia Williams of Troy, Ryleigh Williams of Troy, loving brother of Milford Williams, Jr. (Jean Sousie) of Troy, William Patrick Williams (Shelley Becker) of Troy, David Alec Williams (Lillian) of Troy and Jane Marie Davis (Stephen, Sr.,) of Troy, also survived by his former wife Amy Cerqua and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life Darla Danyla and his sister-in-law Gloria Sousis Williams
Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 for visitation on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by shared reflections and his Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
