Obituary of Donald J. Cusson, Sr.

Donald J. “Don” Cusson, Sr., 71, beloved husband of Cheryl “Sherry” Cusson, peacefully entered into eternal life at home Friday, September 24, 2021.

Born in St. Albans, VT, he was the son of the late Leo and Frances McClay Cusson.

Don was a welder for Troy Boiler Works for 43 years.

Don enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking for family gatherings, and driving his Camaro.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.  His grandchildren were his entire world.  The love he had for them was special and unique. 

Don was the beloved husband of Sherry Cusson; devoted father of Scott (Stephanie) Cusson of Poestenkill, Tara (Brian Emerson) Cusson of Gaithersburg, MD, Melissa “Missy” Cusson of Colonie and the late Donald Cusson, Jr.; brother of Ann Naylor, Caroline Kehn, Gail Guilianelle, Judy Osgood, Lori Chevalier and the late Larry and Gary Cusson; cherished grandfather of Scott Cusson, Jr., Connor Cusson, Jace Cusson, Dylan Cusson, Bryce Emerson and the late Donald Cusson; great grandfather of Alexis Cusson, Braden Miles, Trinity Miles and Autumn Cusson. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 followed by interment in Brookside Cemetery, Poestenkill.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

It is desired that all wear a facial covering while inside the funeral home.
